Old photo restoration starts from a scan or a phone photo of the print. The tool removes scratches, cracks, creases, tears, stains and fading, fills in missing areas and brings back detail in faces, hair and fabric, while the people, poses and framing stay as they were.
How do I restore old photos?
Add one photo at a time: a JPG or PNG scan, or a photo of the print taken flat in even light. Pick Restore, press Generate and compare the results with the original before you keep one. Run it again for another take.
AI photo restoration
AI photo restoration redraws the damaged areas, so a torn corner or a faded face comes back whole. It can still get a detail wrong: check every face against the original, and keep the original scan as well.
Colorize photo
To colorize a photo, pick the Colorize tab. The tool repairs the damage and gives the black and white print natural colours for skin, hair, clothes and the background. The colours are a likely guess, not a record of the real ones.
